Alberta Provincial Commissioner Team

Tracy Burton

“I'm looking forward to working with all the great girls and Guiders in Alberta, Northwest Territories and Yukon!”

Tracy Burton is our 21st Alberta Council Provincial Commissioner. She has been a member for 34 years, holding many positions at the Unit, District, Area and Provincial level. She recently completed her term as Chinook Area Commissioner and continues as a Spark and Ember Guider with her twin sister Bev. She enjoys meeting with the girls.

Many of us met her at national events like GM2010 and GM2016, or events during her term as Deputy Provincial Commissioner (2014-17).  Dr. Burton’s positive attitude and excellent management skills keep meetings fun and productive. Tracy manages a medical clinic in Pincher Creek, AB where she has her practice as a family physician. She brings great enthusiasm and passion for Guiding and experience that will benefit all our members in AB, NT & YT.

Sheila Morrison

“I am excited to be working with the amazingly dedicated and passionate women of ANY Council and look forward to meeting and listening to the girls and young women who move our organization in new directions.”

Sheila Morrison is our Deputy Provincial Commissioner and has been a member for 27 years. She was a girl member in Ottawa, ON and held Unit, District, Division, and Area roles in Calgary Area. She previously sat on Alberta Council as Public Relations and Communications Adviser and Member Services Coordinator. Sheila visits her granddaughter’s Guide unit to help, as needed, and enjoys their camping adventures.

Sheila and her family spend the summer months volunteering across Canada at sprint canoe-kayak regattas with regular trips to Halifax, Ottawa, and Regina. When not travelling, she works in marketing and fund development for a nonprofit. Sheila’s passion for technology may be useful as we learn to meet virtually. Whether meeting her online or in person, you will recognize her by her laughter.
