Juliette Low Seminar Event

Registration for the Juliette Low Seminar is now open for 2nd and 3rd year Guides, Pathfinders, and Rangers!

Have you ever heard of a woman named Juliette Low? Juliette Gordon Low was the founder of Girl Guides USA in the year of 1912. She believed in girls and their potential and wanted to create a place where young women could meet other girls to learn and grow together. Seeing the Boy Scouts have their own groups inspired Juliette to help girls begin one of their own. March of that year, Juliette began to reach out to her community to plant her vision of Girl Guides, and word got around fast as she held her first official meeting with 18 girls that year, and the rest is history.

Today there are over 10 million Girl Guides across the globe, and we still honour and remember our humble beginnings every few years by celebrating Juliette Low through a special ceremony called, you guessed it, the Juliette Low Seminar (or JLS for short). JLS is centered around leadership, girl empowerment, community building, and teamwork, and it has been celebrated since 1932. This year on November 24th, the Manitoba Youth Forum will be planning and hosting JLS and we want you to come join us in celebrating! If you are a girl from 2ndyear Guides to 3rd year Rangers, we want you to be a part of this event here in Winnipeg.
