Volunteer opportunity at Winterlude

Originally published in the Guide ON eNews, December 10th, 2019

to all adult members, Rangers and parents in communities 27-29 and 40

Hello everyone,

Heritage Canada has asked Girl Guides to provide assistance with the Lost Children's Services during the second weekend of Winterlude on February 8th and 9th, 2020.

We are looking for keen Pathfinders, Rangers, Guiders and parent volunteers with PRCs. Worth noting – hours worked at Winterlude can be counted towards the high school requirement for volunteer hours. Please remember to bring your form to have it signed.

Between 8-10 volunteers maximum are needed for each shift (requirement of Heritage Canada). Once a shift has been fully staffed, we cannot accept any further volunteers, so please do not delay in responding as your preferred shift may already be taken. At each location, volunteers can choose to either walk or skate. Please check the Ottawa weather forecast and come properly dressed to enjoy your time outdoors.

To register for a shift, please visit the registration site and follow the instructions that are provided on the registration page. The registration site will be open from December 16th, 2019 to February 4th, 2020.
