Girl Guides of Canada, Ontario Council is the largest organization for women and girls in Ontario. Through our dedicated and talented members, we continue to ensure Guiding remains a place where girls can experience new things, dare to be themselves and become more confident and connected to the world around them. We bring out the extraordinary in every girl.

We are currently seeking the below seasonal camping positions to bring out the extraordinary in our camping program. In the winter and spring camp seasons, you will gain leadership experience delivering exciting program experiences on weekends for unit camps and events. In the summer you will get the chance to create great camp experience to WOW the girls and their families. No matter the season, you will help build memories that will last a lifetime.

2020 Summer Camp Positions. We are currently accepting applications for both  employee and volunteer staff positions. Below is a list of the positions we will be hiring for in 2020.

Director of Operations: If you like to organize, schedule and keep on top of all the minute details to help camp run, keep everyone else on track and supported to perform their best, then this is the job for you.

Program Director: If you see the big picture of camp, have great organizational skills and want to help others deliver WOW sessions for the campers, then apply for this position. You can help set the tone for all the fun at camp while managing staff and taking a strong leadership role at camp.

Camper Care Director: If managing our staff to superior camper care is what you are about, then think about this role. The Camper Care Director helps support challenging campers and works hard to provide the best experience socially, emotionally and physically at camp for all campers.

Camp Coordinator: If you want more responsibility while at camp including coaching and mentoring staff and helping to lead a program area (some certifications are necessary) all while still making close connections with the campers and fellow staff on a daily basis, this job is for you.

  • Leadership Development Program Coordinator (Doe Lake & Woolsey)
  • Waterfront Coordinator (Doe Lake & Woolsey)

Camping Administrator (Woolsey): Are you organized, have great customer service skills, enjoy interacting with people (including parents, campers, office staff, vendors etc.) proficient on a computer and with administrative duties? Then this support role is the job for you.

Camp Counsellor: If you want to play with the campers and help them achieve the extraordinary while at camp all while being supported by a great group of mentors, then the Camp Counsellor position may be ideal for you. A number of trained staff in this role are also required for waterfront and ropes program facilitation.

Canoe Trip Staff (Doe Lake): If you want to play with the campers in canoes, help them achieve the extraordinary while on a canoe trip, facilitate a more unique wilderness experience for them while working closely with a fellow “tripper” (specialized certifications are necessary) then this is the job for you.

Core Staff: Do you want to learn all aspects of what it is like to work at camp? This role will help out with special events, camp support as well as doing some counselling and program delivery. Be part of a team of young workers that are between 16 and 17 years old and are supported by a Camp Coordinator as you learn all about working in a busy camp environment.  If you fit within this age group, then this is the position for you.

Food Services Staff (Woolsey): If you love the feel of camp but know working closely with campers all day is not your thing, how about helping to feed them? These vital roles allow you to help participate with camp life and fun while ensuring campers and staff are fueled for their busy day.
