Canadian Girls Say... Lones website
Groundbreaking photography project
‘Canadian Girls Say…’ is a groundbreaking project that will use photography to help girls from all Branches and Lones to identify the issues they care about in their communities. Selected photo submissions will be displayed in an online gallery as well as at the 2010 Launch event in Toronto.
Below is a summary of what you will be doing:
- Thinking about your community: Identifying what you like or dislike about your community
- Going on a community walk with your parent/guardian to take the photos
- Understanding your photo: Answering four questions about your photo to help GGC understand what you care about
- Submitting your photo submission form and digital photo file to the national office to be entered into the Canadian Girls Say… photo contest and report
- On November 20, 2009 the Universal Day of the Child (instead of Global Action Day 2010 as outlined in the instructions), you will have the opportunity to plan and take action on the issue(s) you identified in this project
Before committing to this project, please review with your parent/guardian all of the activity instructions and other documents below. Also below are sample photos and submission forms taken from the pilot study results of this project. Please feel free to contact us at Photo Voice if you have any other questions or concerns.
The photo submission deadline has been extended! The deadline for all photo submissions is now: Friday, October 30, 2009.
Please note: Submissions are made per girl and not per family so that we can hear the individual voice of girl Members.
