Volunteer Youth Curator at AGO

Jul 6, 2010

Like art and photography?
Want to share the voice of Canadian Girls?
Here’s your chance to be a volunteer youth curator for Girl Guides of Canada
at the Art Gallery of Ontario this summer!
Canadian Girls Say… is a groundbreaking project that empowers Canadian girls to use photography to explore and speak out on what they care about in their community. Check out the project at www.girlguides.ca/cgs_themes. From now until September, the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO) is hosting a Canadian Girls Say exhibition… and is offering a unique opportunity for our Members.
We’re looking for volunteers ages 16 to 25 to work as youth curators at the exhibition this summer. This is a great chance to:
• Get a behind the scenes look at what’s involved in putting on an exhibition at world-renowned art gallery.
• Develop valuable skills that will look great on your resume.
• Let visitors know about the amazing opportunities available through Guiding.
• Earn community service hours for school.
• Add this to your Ranger core program.
Volunteers will work two Saturday or Sunday shifts (11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.) in both July and August. The Art Gallery of Ontario will provide volunteers with training on Wednesday, July 7 from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. Please note: volunteers will be responsible for their own transportation to and from the gallery.
If you are interested in applying for this incredible opportunity please fill out and submit the accompanying application by Monday, June 28 at 5:00pm to tyer@girlguides.ca.
If you have any questions please contact Rebecca Tye at tyer@girlguides.ca or (416) 487-5281 ext 243.
