Are you interested in experiencing life abroad, developing leadership and life-skills and enjoying the fun, friendship and adventure of international Guiding? Volunteer opportunities are available at the four World Centres. Be part of the International team at a World Centre. Applications must be endorsed by GGC’s International Commissioner – send your completed World Centre Volunteer application form to the International Commissioner at ic(@)girlguides(dot)ca

Upon successful completion of the World Centre Volunteer work term, a subsidy is available from the CWFF through the national office.

Our Chalet Volunteering Opportunities

Our Chalet in Switzerland now offers the opportunity to volunteer for up to six months covering Spring and Summer (March to September) or Autumn and Winter (September to March). This option will provide greater opportunities to develop your leadership skills as you take on more of a lead role with other volunteers in the second part of your season. Applications close six months prior to the start of the season you are applying for. For more information: http://www.ourchalet.ch/en/home.

Our Sangam Volunteer Opportunities

If you want to live in India and experience the culture, make friends with Girl Guides and Girl Scouts from around the world and develop new skills as you run program in an international setting, you should consider applying to be a volunteer at Sangam World Centre. Volunteers serve June to September or September to March. Applications are due annually on December 31 of the year prior.  For more information: http://www.sangamworldcentre.org/en/jobs/volunteer/sangamvolunteers.

Or consider becoming a Community Volunteer at Sangam. This offers a unique opportunity where participants are placed with an Indian community organization to volunteer for three months. Share your energy with children as you teach, facilitate, nurture and create opportunities. Volunteer four days a week for three months in your individual placement with an Indian community organization. For more information: http://www.sangamworldcentre.org/en/jobs/volunteer/communityvolunteer.

Our Cabaña Volunteer opportunities

Volunteers come to Our Cabaña in Mexico for a period of 6 - 10 weeks, depending on the season. The positions encompass all the duties required to help run a successful program and also maintain the Centre to a high standard. Volunteer roles give individuals the opportunity to assist in all aspects of our Our Cabaña’s program. For more information: http://www.ourcabana.org/en/home.

Our Pax Lodge Volunteer Opportunities

Pax Lodge in England offers several volunteer opportunities throughout the year. Some of these positions will have specific duties and will require certain skills. All volunteer positions are open to active Members of WAGGGS. For more information: http://www.paxlodge.org/en/people/volunteeropportunities.

WAGGGS and the World Centres want to hear about your experience!

Have you visited one of WAGGGS’ World Centres in the last few years, WAGGGS is very keen to receive feedback about your experience; what you learned and how your experience has affected you and your involvement in Guiding/Girl Scouting. We hope that your feedback will help us to develop the World Centre experience for future volunteers/visitors and would be grateful if you could spend a few minutes filling in this survey as fully as possible:

http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/NCZDMJR

All responses we receive to the survey will be entered into a competition to win a voucher to spend at the WAGGGS online shop.

Please share as much of your World Centre experience as possible as we would love to hear your stories!

Many thanks and we look forward to receiving your responses soon,

Greetings from Sangam World Centre!

This year Sangam will be celebrating its 44th birthday on Saturday 16 October.  Join Girl Guides and Girl Scouts worldwide in celebrating the first ever World Sangam Day!

There are many ways in which you can celebrate - an Indian dinner with friends, an Indian themed activity with your Girl Guides/Girl Scouts, a "Learn about Sangam" day for the leaders in your district... the possibilities are endless.

Through World Sangam Day many more girls and women around the world will learn about Sangam and the opportunities it offers.

For more information to help you plan the celebrations http://www.sangamworldcentre.org/en/friends/wsd

At this link you will find information sheets about India, Sangam and the Bharat Scouts and Guides, yummy Indian recipes, information about Indian birthday traditions, many ideas for games and activities, and much more!  We would love to hear how you plan to celebrate World Sangam Day!

We hope we will have the change to welcome you to Sangam soon!
