Art Gallery of Ontario


GGC partnered with the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO) to exhibit the results of “Canadian Girls Say” – a “photovoice” project that enabled girls across Canada to take photos about what mattered to them in their community and let their voices be heard. Selected photos were displayed in the AGO from May to December 2010.

Founded in 1900 by a group of private citizens as the Art Museum of Toronto, the Art Gallery of Ontario is one of the largest art museums in North America.  The AGO has more than 79,000 works in its collection, which spans from 100 A.D. to the present.

The Belinda Stronach FoundationG(irls)20 Summit 2011


Girl Guides of Canada has partnered with The Belinda Stronach Foundation for the Second Annual G(irls)20 Summit 2011, from October 18 to 21 in Paris. The Summit is modeled after the G20 leaders meeting, bringing together one delegate from each G20 country, and a representative from the African Union. The participants are all girls, aged 18-20.

The Belinda Stronach Foundation (TBSF) is committed to advancing human potential and achievement through individual empowerment and social change. TBSF focuses on three main pillars, one of which is Girls and Women.

Canadian Wildlife Federation


GGC partnered with the Canadian Wildlife Federation for the 2011 Walk for Wildlife. GGC presented the Walk for Wildlife as a potential activity for our 2011 National Service Project: EmPOWERing Girls, as a way for girls to add their voices to wildlife conservation in Canada.

The Canadian Wildlife Federation is dedicated to fostering awareness and appreciation of our natural world. By spreading knowledge of human impacts on the environment, sponsoring research, promoting the sustainable use of natural resources, recommending changes to policy and co-operating with like-minded partners, CWF encourages a future in which Canadians can live in harmony with nature.

Equal Voice


In 2009, Girl Guides of Canada partnered with Equal Voice to redesign the Pathfinder Citizenship Certificate, and develop the existing “Be a Model Citizen” module activities and Citizenship Certificate requirements. Most recently, GGC partnered with Equal Voice for the “Take a Girl to Vote” campaign for the 2011 Federal Election.

Equal Voice’s mission is to promote the election of more women to all levels of Government and ultimately, change the face of Canadian politics.

Food Banks Canada


GGC partnered with Food Banks Canada to facilitate local food bank participation nationwide as part of the 2010 National Service Project: Eradicating Hunger and Poverty.

Food Banks Canada’s mission is to reduce hunger in Canada by enabling an effective food bank community that addresses the short term need for food and longer term solutions.

Golf Canada


Golf Canada has partnered with GGC since 2003 to introduce more Canadian girls to the game of golf, and promote Golf Canada’s CN Future Links Girls’ Club program.

Golf Canada is the governing body of golf in Canada, representing more than 350,000 members at 1,600 clubs across the country. Golf Canada is responsible for promoting participation in and a passion for the game of golf in Canada.

Media Awareness Network


Since 2002, GGC has partnered with Media Awareness Network (MNet) to give girls and young women the critical thinking skills they will need to use digital technologies safely and wisely. Most recently, in 2008, GGC and MNet co-developed the CyberCitizen Challenge which covers topics including privacy, safety, ethical use, online marketing and authentication of information.

Media Awareness Network (MNet) is a Canadian non-profit organization that has been pioneering the development of media literacy and digital literacy programs since its incorporation in 1996.

METRAC


In 2008, GGC partnered with METRAC to develop program materials and non-violent community training to create the Girl EmPower Challenge. In 2009, GGC partnered with METRAC for the Girls for Safer Communities Challenge, to develop adaptable Community Safety Audit tools that can be used by girls of all ages across Canada.

The Metropolitan Action Committee on Violence Against Women and Children (METRAC) is a not-for-profit, community-based organization that works to ensure diverse women, youth, and children live free from all forms of violence and the threat or fear of violence.

NEDIC


In 2008, GGC partnered with NEDIC to develop the Love Yourself Challenge, which explores aspects of body image, self-esteem, health and nutrition, and inspires girls to understand and feel good about themselves.

The National Eating Disorder Information Centre (NEDIC) promotes healthy lifestyles and informs the public about eating disorders and related issues.

ParticipACTION Partner Network


In 2011, GGC joined the ParticipACTION Partner Network, as an organization that has physical activity, sport, recreation and active living as a connected part of our mission.

ParticipACTION is the national voice of physical activity and sport participation in Canada. ParticipACTION Partner Network (PPN) is a robust network of not-for-profit and public sector organizations dedicated to physical activity and sport participation.

Plan Canada


In 2011, GGC partnered with Plan Canada for the mutual endorsement of Plan Canada’s “Because I am a Girl” campaign and GGC’s 2011 National Service Project: EmPOWERing Girls.

Plan is a global movement for change, mobilizing millions of people around the world to support social justice for children in developing countries. “Because I am a Girl” is a global initiative to empower girls and all the children around them in developing countries.

PREVNet


In 2007, GGC partnered with PREVNet to develop program activities for the Girls United Challenge and provided a Training Enrichment for Adult Members on the topic of girls’ social aggression and bullying.

The Promoting Relationships and Eliminating Violence Network (PREVNet) is a coalition of Canadians concerned about bullying. The primary goal of PREVNet is to translate and exchange knowledge about bullying to enhance awareness, to provide assessment and intervention tools, and to promote policy related to the problems of bullying.

SEVEC


Girl Guides of Canada has partnered with SEVEC (The Society for Educational Visits and Exchanges in Canada) to provide more Canadian girls with the opportunity to participate in the Youth Exchanges Canada program – an enriching educational exchange initiative for Canadian youth. With funding from the Department of Canadian Heritage, SEVEC sends 5,000 youth on educational exchanges each year.

SEVEC is a national charitable organization that has been providing educational exchanges, trips and forums for Canadian youth for 75 years. SEVEC’s mission is to create, facilitate and promote enriching educational opportunities for youth within Canada through programs of exploration in language, culture and community.

University of Guelph


GGC partnered with the University of Guelph to develop and deliver the Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) programming for girls attending Guiding Mosaic 2010.

The University of Guelph is ranked as one of Canada’s top comprehensive universities because of its commitment to student learning and innovative research.
