Volunteer Opportunities

Alberta Council Volunteer Positions

Alberta Council Archives and Museum Program Assistant(s)

For several years the Museum has offered units the opportunity to come to the Girl Guide House in Edmonton to learn more about the history of Alberta Council Guiding. The girls dress up in heritage uniforms, do a scavenger hunt, talk about some aspects of the history of Guiding and play games. These sessions take place on their meeting nights or at weekends and have proved to be very popular. Requests are increasing to the point where we are looking for one or more volunteers to assist.

Some of the skills required are:
  • A knowledge of history of Guiding/or an interest in learning more
  • An ability to relate to members of all ages
  • Flexible scheduling
  • Reliability
This opportunity is open to adult members and Rangers.  If you are interested to find out more about this fascinating way to pass on your GGC knowledge and enthusiasm please email Janet:  archives@albertagirlguides.com
