Supporting Guiders in implementing the new program

Girls First is GGC's new program that units can start to transition to during the 2018-19 launch year. Girls First Champions (GFCs) are currently being recruited across the country to complement the support we already offer Guiders. Here's how our GFCs will work with you in making the launch of our new program a success:

How will Girls First Champions help you? We know program transition is a lot of work – and that we need to make sure that Unit Guiders are supported every step of the way. GFCs will spend this winter and spring diving into our new program delivery model and Areas of Program. Some will start offering in-person sessions with local Guiders as early as May, with the majority of Girls First workshops happening throughout the 2018-19 launch year.  GFCs will also be available to support local Guiders throughout the year.

What about GGC Trainers?  GGC Trainers provide invaluable support to Guiders and will continue to be responsible for many essential trainings (e.g., Safe Guide, Foundation Training). Trainers will be provided with Girls First program information and resources by Spring 2018 to use in Foundation trainings and other sessions. Trainers with specific questions can contact: girlsfirst@girlguides.ca.

When can I get started with Girls First training? We know Guiders and Girls are very excited about Girls First and ready to start planning for the transition to the new program. Most in-person sessions will be held throughout the 2018-19 launch year, with some beginning as early as May 2018. Here are some additional ways you can learn about the program:
