Girl Guides invade Gordon Food Services

To all adult members and Rangers

On Friday, April 15th, girls from the 2nd Milton Guides, 1st Milton Pathfinders and 2nd Milton Rangers invaded the offices of Gordon Food Service for the first ever Girl Guide Cookie Invasion!

Girl Guide Cookie invasionThis group of Guides, Pathfinders and Rangers were invited to visit the corporate offices to promote and sell Girl Guide cookies to raise funds for their upcoming trip to Guiding Mosaic.  The order for the cookies was placed by Gordon Food Service and the girls were invited to distribute the cookies to their employees.  The girls were welcomed by hungry office workers looking for a yummy mid-day treat!

Jasmine, the eldest of the Patrol at 17 noted about the day “It was fun and successful, I got to learn about Food Distribution Services while also fundraising for the trip.”

Fiona, age 11 commented that “The whole day was so much fun!  The people there were so nice.  It was a little intimidating going to speak to everyone in the meeting, but then they came out and bought lots of cookies and thanked us for being there!  I hope we get to go back next year!”

The girls were given the opportunity to lead a presentation to the staff about Girl Guides and how they are developing their leadership skills as they will be our future leaders of businesses and corporations.  They also spoke about the fun, adventures and benefits of Girl Guides.  They thanked everyone in the meeting for supporting their goals of attending Mosaic, where they would have the opportunity to meet fellow Girl Guides from across Canada and around the world.  In appreciation for this generous opportunity, the girls presented Lisa MacNeil, President of Gordon Foods Services with a Silver Thanks pin.
The Girl Guide Cookie Invasion is a fun and unique opportunity not only for cookie selling, it also provides a chance to showcase our girl members and the many benefits of being a member of Girl Guides of Canada.

Consider holding your own Girl Guide Cookie Invasion for a fun and engaging take on cookies!
