Cookie Sales Planning and Resources

Here’s all the information you need to plan, organize and achieve cookie selling success!

Cookie All Stars

Cookie All Stars is Girl Guides of Canada (GGC)’s cookie selling rewards initiative, where girls earn individual rewards for achieving exceptional cookie sales levels, while also raising funds for their unit’s activities.

Cookies Rising Badge program

Cookies Rising is designed to integrate sales into regular unit programming, while helping girls develop important life skills. This is a cumulative program that girls can participate in every year, trying new and challenging activities to help them build on the skills they’ve learned in Guiding. Plus, each year girls can earn a fun badge to add to their badge scarf! Get a sneak peek at the Cookies Rising Badge program.

Cookie Ordering

Typically, cookie ordering takes place in May/June for the fall campaign, and January for the spring campaign. We share specific dates, deadlines and other Guider information about the Cookie Ordering Website for the fall and spring cookie campaigns through our weekly Guide ON eNewsletter. (Watch your email!) You can also consult our Cookie Key Dates Calendar for ordering dates and deadlines.

Get help placing your order with our Cookie Ordering Tip Sheet.

Cookie Pick-up and Distribution

Cookie delivery windows in Ontario are September-October for the fall campaign, and March-April for the spring campaign.

About two weeks before cookie deliveries begin, Cookie Orderers will receive an email indicating where their unit cookie order will be delivered and when their cookies will be ready for pick-up. Cookies can be picked up by any Guider in the unit and must be picked up from the delivery location as specified by their Cookie Receiver. Guiders must take the exact number of cases ordered and are required to sign a Case Collection Form provided by the Cookie Receiver, at the time of pick-up.

Cookie Finder Map – Promote Your Unit’s Sales!

Selling cookies? Add your unit’s cookie sales event to our interactive Cookie Finder Map using the online submission form for Guiders. Please note that it may take two business days for your event to appear on the map, so submit your event well in advance. You can find helpful tips on using the map in our Cookie Finder Map Tip Sheet.

Cookie Days in Canada

This nationwide cookie selling event is held each campaign. The Fall event takes place the weekend after Thanksgiving and the Spring Cookie Days is usually held on the second weekend of April.* Units have the opportunity to take part in one of three ways at their own DIY Cookie Days booth sale or door to door neighbourhood blitz, or by booking a spot at one of our national partners Sears Canada or SmartCentre - locations across Canada.
* dependant on when Easter falls on the calendar

SmartCentres and Sears partnerships - GGC now has an agreement with SmartCentres to include 151 locations across Canada! Along with our Sears partnership, that means many more urban and rural locations for Guiders in Ontario to sell on Cookie Day. Please use the online booking system in all cases - do not attempt to book your sale directly with stores. Units that book directly with stores will be asked to resubmit their request through the online system, meaning possible delays. We appreciate your cooperation.

Please visit the National Cookie Days in Canada webpage for more details on how your unit can take part.

Ontario Spring Cookie Group Sales crest program

All units can participate and earn the Spring Cookie Group Sales crest when you sell as a group, on the day of your choice. This program is an easy and convenient way for your girls to be rewarded for all their hard work, when they participate in a spring group sale with their unit. And as their Guider, you’ll earn the crest too!

Fun Ideas for Group Cookie Selling

Cookie Pre-Order Form
If you are a unit concerned about the amount of time your unit will have to sell the cookies you have ordered, encourage your girls and families to begin taking pre-orders using our new Pre-Order Form. If you were a Girl Guide in the 90’s or earlier you are most likely very familiar to this way of selling.

Determine Freshness Guarantee Date

Does your unit have cookies remaining from a previous campaign? Please use our Freshness Guarantee Date tool to confirm the “no-sell” date for cookies.

Surplus Cookies

The cookie department has developed a new process for units who are looking for surplus cookies. We have developed an online list of Receivers that will inform you of all the locations where surplus cookies will be available this campaign. This webpage will list only the following details pertaining to each Receiver’s location:

  • Receiver Name
  • Receiver Email
  • City

When contacting a Receiver to request surplus, please be prepared to provide them with:

  • Your full unit name
  • Unit Imis #
  • Number of surplus cases you are requesting

As in the past, requests will be met on a first come first served basis. Please review this Surplus Distribution Form Tip Sheet including instructions on how to properly fill out the surplus form you will be required to complete upon pick-up of these cases.
