Summer Family Camping Programs - Mom and Me
What could be better than going to summer camp with your favourite girl camper? Both you and your camper will delight in our fun-filled camp activities and have all the enjoyment of camping without all the work. The two of you will get to participate in traditional camp programs geared to our butterfly theme in 2020 – Spread Your Wings! Your camper will see you in a different way as you participate in activities together and create new, treasured memories. The beach will be open in the afternoon for a refreshing dip.
Accommodation, activities and meals are included in your registration fee. Campers must arrange their own transportation for this program. We do not offer busing.
Indoor accommodation is shared with other participants unless otherwise stated. You can apply for indoor accommodation sleeping on bunk beds or tent accommodation sleeping in nylon tents. The base price is the cost for one adult and one child camper. Additional costs apply for more children to attend.
*Note: Our camp programs are labelled “Mom” and me, but girls are welcome to register and attend with any adult female relative (e.g., an aunt, stepmother, grandmother or other significant female). Any person attending in the adult role must be 18 years of age or older. The adult remains responsible for the youth camper during free time, meals and overnight supervision during the program.
Mom and Me - Sparks, Brownies and Guides (born 2009-2015) at Doe Lake and Woolsey
This program gives girls the opportunity to experience all the fun of camp and enjoy these new experiences with mom! We find younger campers are most successful in these kinds of camping programs because they start to learn what camp is all about. Both camp locations offer indoor and tent accommodation options.

Summer Family Camping Programs - Mom and Me FAQs
Accommodation
Shared Indoor accommodations at Doe Lake Camp:Each family set (e.g. the Mom and camper) will be placed in a room which sleeps four. Accommodation is shared with other participants.
Indoor at Camp Woolsey: Families share large dorm rooms with multiple bunk beds. Families are allocated to the bunk beds.
Outdoor Tenting at Camp Woolsey and Doe Lake:Each family set will be assigned their own tent. The tent is spacious enough if you want to add some additional female children (see details below). Tents are fully screened nylon tents, big enough for four people. They have a full fly and are waterproof and are nice and cool when fully open.
Additional Female Children
Our programs are designed for one adult and one camper who is within the age ranges we have specified above. However, if the attending adult wants to bring along some additional children, the additional children must be within the age criteria for the Mom and Me camp program. This means that an adult may have at total of up to three children with her; the main girl registered for the program plus two additional children. Some exceptions may be made to the age group if an additional child is an infant (under one year). No exceptions will be made to the maximum number of children per adult. Additional children will be charged a fee of $105+HST per child for Mom and Me weekend programs.
Additional Female Adult
If there is a second female adult who wishes to attend camp in addition to the primary adult registrant (e.g., grandmother, aunt, significant other female), designate this person as “additional child” on the application and pay the corresponding fee. Please email camping@guidesontario.org to explain that you have designated the adult as the additional child on your application while providing the camp name, program dates and the person’s full name. A maximum of two adults may accompany a child to Mom and Me. Adults are not able to attend on their own.
Arrival and Departure
Our Mom and Me programs run from Friday afternoon until Sunday morning. Arrival is no earlier than 2:30 p.m. on Friday*. Later arrival is flexible. We understand that parents work and may not be able to get to camp until five or six in the evening. Just let us know if this is the case by calling your camp staff.
*Exception: Camp Woolsey Mom and Me, August 1st-3rd, 2020. Program begins on Saturday at 1 p.m. (after lunch) and ends on Monday at 10:30 am.
Camp Schedule
Activity sessions run through the weekend beginning at 3:30 p.m.on Friday*. Most sessions are scheduled for the two of you to spend together, but there are some activities to be enjoyed just by the adults or girls. There are four activity sessions throughout Saturday (two before lunch and two after) and one session in the evening (this is usually a camp-wide activity such as a campfire). An exact schedule of the weekend and the activities being offered will be given to you upon arrival at camp.

Registration
When completing your registration, you MUST register each person in your group that will be attending as a camper. We need to know about every person that will be at camp, including the adults. If you're an adult registering yourself or another adult, you can put your own name into the parent/guardian fields.
Washrooms and Showers
For all camps, washrooms are in the same building as the accommodation and showers are located nearby.

We want everyone to join in the fun of camp! Girl Guides of Canada, Ontario Council offers Summer Overnight Camp Financial Assistance (SOCFA) to eligible girl members for camping programs. Information on applying for a SOCFA is included in the online camp application form for each program.
