To complete the registration(s), you will be asked to pay the balance owing and will receive an email confirming the process is complete.

Fee subsidies are also available for families unable to use the online registration system. For more information, contact membersupport.admin4@guidesontario.org or call 1-877-323-4545 ext. 2489.

Camping Subsidy - Campership
There are three types of subsidy (Campership) available for Ontario Council camping programs:

Unit Campership
Financial assistance is available to girl members who wish to participate in overnight camping programs offered at Ontario Girl Guide owned/leased camps* for unit overnight camping. Unit Guiders process the application based on parent/guardian input.
*Exception: Camping experiences for girl members in units in Community 34 (Sudbury and north or west of Sudbury ONLY), 35 and 36 held at Ontario Guide owned/leased camps or locations providing similar amenities and programming opportunities as an Ontario Girl Guide camp property will be eligible for camperships. This would include locations such as provincial parks, church camps or community facilities. This does not include overnights at facilities such as Science North or Old Fort William.

Criteria:
The maximum amount of subsidy is 50% of the full camp fee as set by the Responsible Guider of the camp, to a maximum of $150 per Guiding year for a total maximum of 5 nights (can be any combination e.g., a two night camp and three 1 night camps).  If a girl had previously used 4 of her eligible nights and another two night camp is planned, she would be eligible for up to 50% of the camp fee for the remaining one night. The amount of subsidy requested will be stated on the application. Camperships are based on need, as described by the family on the application.

Applications must be received prior to the date of the camp to be eligible for subsidy. Subsidy monies are applied to the unit account after the event.

If the girl has received event campership or provincial camping program campership for the Guiding year, these nights do not count in the totals for Unit Campership.

Application process:
The Unit Guider approves and submits the Unit Campership Application Form with the Unit Campership Request for Payment form. Applications must be received by the Unit Administrator at least 4 weeks prior to the date of the camp, to allow for processing time. Applications submitted later than this will be processed; however, subsidy monies may not be received prior to the event.

Event Campership
Financial assistance is available to girl members attending an overnight camping event or a Guiding day camp for 3 or more consecutive days at Ontario Council owned/leased camps.*

Criteria:
The amount available is 50% of the application fee to a maximum of $150 per Guiding year and to a maximum of 5 days (in Guiding year). Campership is calculated before taxes on the balance owing after all applicable discounts have been applied. Unit Campership nights used and receipt of Ontario Council Summer Overnight Camping Program subsidy does not count against Event Campership requests for the same camper and vice versa.
*Exception: Camping experiences for girl members in units in Community 34 (Sudbury and north or west of Sudbury ONLY), 35 and 36 held at Ontario Council owned/leased camps or locations providing similar amenities and programming opportunities as an Ontario Council camp property will be eligible for camperships. This would include locations such as provincial parks, church camps or community facilities. This does not include overnights at facilities such as Science North or Old Fort William.

Application process:
Information and applications are available under each qualifying camping event on our Event Calendar or, if it's a provincially sponsored program, under the camp online application form. Submit applications a minimum of 14 days prior to the start of the event, to allow time for processing.

Summer Overnight Camp Campership
Financial assistance is available to current girl members of GGC, Ontario Council attending our Ontario Camps Association (OCA) accredited Summer Overnight Camps' programs run at Ontario Girl Guide owned/leased camps.

Criteria:
The maximum amount of funding available per girl member is 75% of the camp fee or to a maximum of $350 per week of their chosen program session each Guiding year. Each girl member will be eligible for a subsidy for a maximum of one summer camp program session* per Guiding year. The length of the program session is defined by the descriptions in our Summer Overnight Camping web pages.

*For girls participating in a session that is less than four nights, they would be eligible for two sessions to a maximum of six nights total.

Application process:
The camper’s parent/guardian completes the Summer Overnight Camps' campership application as part of the Summer Overnight Camps' online registration process. A separate application is required for each camper.

Summer Overnight Camps Campership Guidelines
  1. Camperships are only for girls that are full members in good standing of Girl Guides of Canada.  Girls who are part of our organization through the “Try Now, Join Later” program are not eligible for Campership.
  2. You can apply for this financial subsidy for any program.
  3. Campership applications will only be reviewed if accompanied by the completed Summer Overnight Camp Application form and the appropriate deposit.
  4. Camperships may not meet all financial needs and it is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to pay all camp fee costs in excess of the benefits available from the Campership Program.
  5. Assistance is applied to the camp fee only. Special equipment, transportation (including busing) or kit list items cannot be included in the calculation of assistance.
  6. No application will be considered once the camper has arrived at camp.
Summer Overnight Camps Campership Process
  1. Submit Summer Camps Application (via the online registration process for camp), with the appropriate deposit. The Campership Application will open automatically if you click the box on the online application form which asks if you would like to apply for subsidy.
  2. All Campership Applications will be processed on an ongoing basis, in a first-come, first-served manner, as long as funds are available.
  3. The appointed Provincial Administrators will assess all completed Campership Applications.
  4. Once we receive a completed Campership Application and an application with deposit, a space will be held if available for the camper’s preferred program and session. Once the Campership Application is processed, the balance owing will be the full amount less the application deposit and the offered Campership amount.
  5. All Summer Overnight Camps' Application details
  6. Financial assistance will be applied to the camper’s application account. Camperships will be calculated before taxes, on the balance owing after all applicable discounts have been applied.
