Book a Site or Equipment at Camp Okeekun

Camp Okeekun is a hidden jewel in the South West corner of the province of Alberta located just outside of Fort Macleod, and offers both indoor camping and tent camping opportunities.

Check-in and check-out times

Contact Camp Caretaker at (403) 382-0990 five days prior to your camp booking for confirm arrival and departure times.

Sites

Olave House (overnight and day capacity: 48. Site open from April through October)

Area Guiding groups rates:

Overnight booking rates: $4/person/night ($120 minimum)

Day booking rates: $4/person ($80 minimum)

Out-of-Area Guiding groups rates:

Overnight booking rates: $5/person/night ($180 minimum)

Day booking rates: $5/person ($180 minimum)

  • Wheelchair accessible dining/kitchen building with tables and benches accommodating 45
  • Three wheelchair accessible sleeping trailers accommodating 48
  • Separate Burton meeting hall for games and crafts with tables and benches
  • Kitchen with two refrigerators, stove, various cooking equipment and dishware
  • Propane fireplace (propane is provided)
  • Running water in building and treated well water on site from May to September, or water jugs are provided
  • Large covered deck, two gazebos and picnic tables
  • Wheelchair accessible latrines and showers in dining building
  • Liquid disposal units
  • Fire pit on site with firewood provided
  • Groups are required to take home garbage
  • Shared playground and outdoor chapel/reflection area

Chalet (overnight and day capacity: 24)

Area Guiding group rates:

Overnight booking rates: $4/person/night ($80 minimum) + $20/night seasonal fee (November to March)

Day booking rates: $4/person ($80 minimum) + $20 seasonal fee (November to March)

Out-of-area Guiding group rates:

Overnight booking rates: $5/person/night ($100 minimum) + $20/night seasonal fee (November to March)

  • Seasonal indoor toilets and wheelchair accessible year-round outdoor latrines
  • Wheelchair accessible building with bunk beds and two single beds
  • Tables and benches
  • Seasonal outdoor taps with treated well water on site from May to September, or water jugs are provided
  • Kitchen with refrigerator, stove, various cooking equipment and dishware
  • Deck and picnic tables
  • Liquid Disposal Units
  • Fire pit on site with firewood provided

Jennifer Peters Tenting Site (Site open from April through October)

Area Guiding group rates:

Overnight booking rates: $4/person/night ($75 minimum)

Day booking rates: $4/person ($50 minimum)

Out-of-area Guiding group rates*:

Overnight booking rates: $5/person/night ($90 minimum)

Day booking rates: $5/person ($90 minimum)

  • Maximum of 16 in unheated bunk trailer, and lots of space for tents
  • Wheelchair accessible kitchen shelter accommodates 40 with picnic tables, and gazebo with picnic tables accommodates 24
  • Wood burning stove, propane stoves (propane provided) and fireboxes for outdoor cooking
  • Kitchen shelter with refrigerator, tables and chairs, cooking equipment and patrol boxes
  • Wheelchair accessible year-round outdoor latrines
  • Treated well water on site from May to September, or water jugs are provided
  • Limited electricity on site
  • Nylon tents (put up yourself) are available for Chinook Area groups
  • Liquid disposal units

Overnight booking rates: $5/person/night ($60 minimum)

  • Maximum of 16 in unheated bunk trailer, and lots of space for tents
  • Wood burning stove, propane stoves (propane provided) and fireboxes for outdoor cooking
  • Open kitchen shelter with picnic tables (accommodates 30), cooking equipment and patrol boxes
  • Refrigerator available on site.
  • Wheelchair accessible year-round outdoor latrines
  • Treated well water on site from May to September, or water jugs are provided
  • Nylon tents (put up yourself) are available for Chinook Area groups
  • Limited electricity on site
  • Liquid Disposal Units
  • Fire pit on site with firewood provided

Equipment available for rent

Please note that booking confirmation for equipment will depend on availability. Please submit the Equipment Request form to reserve equipment for your unit or event.

GPS Units

Six units available for rental This equipment is available only to Chinook Area groups. There is no cost for booking the GPS units.

Compasses

19 compasses available for rental. This equipment is available only to Chinook Area groups. There is no cost for booking the compasses.

Nylon Tents

Tents are only available for Chinook Area groups. There is no cost for booking tents.

Snowshoes

13 pairs for children, 12 pairs for adult available for rental. This equipment is available only to Chinook Area groups. There is no cost for booking snowshoes.
