Book a Site or Equipment at Camp Kanaka

Camp Kanaka consists of four terrific facilities and is situated on 5.7 acres in a quiet picturesque rural setting in Maple Ridge. An environment pond allows visitors to observe the ecosystem in a natural setting. A large playing field and various nature trails are also available.

Check-in and check-out times

Check in after 3:30 pm. You must contact the Camp Caretaker at least 72 hours before camp date to arrange check in. Check out must be arranged with the Camp Caretaker on arrival at camp.

Orientations

Groups staying at Camp Kanaka sites must send a representative per site booked to attend a pre-camp site orientation. The representative must be in attendance for the duration of the camp and must be checked in and out by the Caretaker or their designate. The site will be inspected by Campsite Liaison designate, usually Caretaker or other maintenance staff just prior to check out. An additional damage charge may be applied if warranted.

If cleaning is not completed to Caretaker’s or designates satisfaction an additional cleaning fee will be charged as follows:

  • Lougheed Lodge – $100
  • Tillicum – $75
  • Naka Naka Naka – $50
  • Serenity – $25

Crests

Crests can be purchased from our Camp Caretaker on arrival. You must fill out the Crest Order form and hand in to our Camp Caretaker. Once you have received your crests, our Camp Caretaker will send the order form to National for processing.


Sites

Lougheed Lodge (Overnight capacity: 56; Day capacity: 100)

  • 5500 sq. ft. dormitory-style bunk beds with mattresses
  • Banquet facilities for up to 54, fully equipped commercial kitchen and dishwasher, 2 fridges, upright freezer, microwave and gas range with grill
  • Very large open main area with a gas fireplace in one corner
  • 800 sq. ft. covered deck
  • First aid room with a bed
  • Two large washrooms and staff washroom with showers
  • Large campfire ring with firewood supplied
  • Completely wheelchair accessible

Naka Naka Naka (Capacity: 50)

  • Canvas ridgepole tents on wooden platforms
  • Each tent site has its own picnic table and fire pit
  • Patrol equipment is available for Girl Guide groups
  • Large, enclosed eating shelter has a gas fireplace and tables with benches
  • Kitchen in the shelter has a gas stove, fridge cooking utensils and pots and pans
  • No dishes are provided
  • Share adjacent washroom building with Tillicum Lodge
  • Campfire ring with firewood supplied

Serenity (Capacity: 16)

  • Wilderness tent site, tranquil area nestled among the trees
  • Picnic tables are available under the covered deck area of Lougheed Lodge
  • The Hayward room in the basement of the lodge provides inside washrooms, fridge, freezer and an indoor activity area
  • Campfire ring with firewood supplied

Tillicum (Capacity: 24)

  • Dormitory-style bunk beds with mattresses and 3 double futons in the living room
  • Kitchen includes dishes cooking utensils cutlery, gas stove, fridge, freezer, microwave, and dishwasher
  • Gas fireplace
  • Adjacent washroom building with hot and cold running water and one shower
  • Campfire ring with firewood supplied

Booking terms and conditions

Payments and cancellations

The booking fee will be withdrawn on the Friday following booking confirmation.

Minimum payment will be withdrawn from your account four (4) weeks prior to your camp date.

The remainder will be withdrawn the Friday following the last day of the camp.

There is an additional water fee of $25 per site.

Cancellations must be made in writing at least 1 month prior to the booked start of your camp. Any payments made, over and above the non-refundable booking fee, will be returned. If the cancellation is less than one (1)month prior to the start of your camp, no refunds will be made.
