In September 2018, Girl Guides of Canada is launching our brand new program for every branch of Guiding – and we want you to be part of our Girls First launch parties.
Two ways to celebrate
1. Organize your own local Girls First launch party
The Launch Party Toolkit will help you plan the ULTIMATE celebration for girls in your unit or community this fall. You'll find tips and trick to help you plan a dynamic Girls First launch party, with all of the elements needed to make it a truly girl-driven event. The Launch Party Toolkit is designed to support girls in planning a girl-driven event, with support as needed from adult allies.
National events are being held on Saturday, September 29. Find a date that works well for you and those involved in your launch party.

FAQs: National launch parties
Where are the national launch parties being held?
Vancouver: The Nest, Alma Mater Society of the University of British Columbia
Moncton: Legends Restaurant, Moncton Coliseum
Toronto: Evergreen Brickworks
How many girls can attend the launch parties in Vancouver, Toronto and Moncton?
Each of the three events will have two sessions (younger branches in the morning, older in the afternoon), with room for 150 girls at each session.
How will registration work?
Girls can register online individually to attend an event in Vancouver, Toronto or Moncton. An email has been sent to girls in these three geographic areas and registrations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
Note: As these events are designed to be girl-driven, girls/families will register individually. Guiders are encouraged to share registration details with the girls in their unit. Unit registration by Guiders will not be available.
Will travel, transit or parking expenses be reimbursed?
Unfortunately, we will not be able to reimburse these expenses.
My ticket (registration) category is full. Is there a waitlist I can get onto?
Absolutely! You can email email@example.com to request to be added to the waitlist. Please provide your full name and branch in the email, as well as the city you’d like to attend in.
My unit wants to attend as a group. How do we do this?
Registration is individual, so you may only sign yourself up. If you want to go as a group or unit, you should arrange with the other girls to all sign up at the same time. Note: registration is only open girls.
My Guider/parent wants to come as well. Is this an option?
This event is only open to girls, so your Guider/parent cannot register. But they can come to drop you off and pick you up.
