16 Days to Eliminate Violence Against Women Campaign – November 25 – December 10, 2016
From November 25 (International End Violence Against Women Day) through December 10 (International Human Rights Day), 16 Days is an international campaign focused on ending violence against women and girls around the world. In Canada, it also includes our National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women and Girls (December 6), commemorating the murder of 14 women in 1989 at l’École Polytechnique de Montréal (Montréal Massacre). The campaign is a time for reflection on the many forms of violence against women and girls both locally and around the world and to take action to put an end to it.
