Thinking about an adventure in 2026? Why not join a patrol to Camp Olave 26!
This fully catered all-girl camp has an action packed programme of activities. Held in beautiful Sussex woodland, it is the perfect opportunity to experience the UK countryside as well as to meet other Girl Guides and Girl Scouts from all over the world. Previous guests have included groups from Japan, Nigeria, India, Chile, Cyprus and Estonia.
Following an exciting week at camp, the patrol will journey to PAX lodge to stay for four days and explore London.
The Nova Scotia Council is sponsoring a patrol of eight youth members, aged 15-18 at the time of the trip, and two Guiders.

- July 25: Group will travel to London from Halifax
- July 25-August 1: Camp Olave - International Girl Guide camp in Sussex Woodland
- August 1: Group will travel to PAX Lodge
- August 1-5: Exploring London
- August 5: Group will travel back to Halifax from London, England
Who: We are looking for
- Eight (8) youth members who are 15-18 by the start date of the trip (July 25, 2026) and who are registered as a Ranger, Trex or bridging member for the 2025-2026 Guiding year.
- Two (2) adult Guiders
Cost: $4,768 including flights, program fees, and meals. This does not include personal spending money. Each participant must pay $477. The remaining cost can be covered through a cookie sales fundraising option with a special cost-sharing arrangement.
How to apply:
Participation in this event is an independent travel experience. If you are applying with a friend, we cannot guarantee that you will both be accepted.
Guiders and all youth must be registered in Girl Guides of Canada in the 2025 -2026 Guiding year.

Youth

Youth Qualifications:
Youth should have experience with multi-day and night camps, with a minimum of 6 nights away being the recommendation.
Guider Qualifications:
All Guiders must have experience supervising a group of adolescents, including overnight; this experience can be in Guiding or outside of Guiding.
Have current standard first aid (current to include the entire duration of the trip).
Guider Responsibilities:
The selected Guiders will be responsible for the youth under their care and fully participate in all program activities at Camp Olave, Pax Lodge ,and touring opportunities in London. The Guiders must work with the Travel Advisor and provide oversight to all pre-trip planning, including Safe Guide forms, itinerary planning, and 3-4 virtual meetings of the travel group. The Guiders must also complete a post-trip survey to share their experience with Girl Guides NS Council.
