Award FAQs

My award nomination has been approved. How will the recipient receive their award package?

Award packages are mailed to the person indicated on the application (this can be the nominator, the nominee or someone else). You can present the award at any time.

How long does the award process take?

Once you submit your award nomination, it is reviewed by at least two volunteer reviewers. Award packages are then compiled bi-weekly (weekly during the busy spring season) and sent to the mailing house for printing and mailing. Please keep in mind the following time frames when submitting awards and planning presentation dates.

Unit Guider Awards (Bronze, Silver, Gold), Merit Awards (Bronze, Silver, Gold) Medal of Merit, ACL Award, Gold Thanks Pin, Team Award

Where are the awards mailed from?

Because GGC staff are working remotely, awards are being mailed through a mailing house in Pickering, and the award mailing process may take longer. Packages are sent via letter mail and cannot be tracked. We cannot guarantee delivery dates.

I received an award, but it is not reflected on my iMIS profile.

The national office is responsible for uploading all awards to iMIS once a year in the summer.
