The Girl Guide program paves the way for a better world, by girls. There’s so much variety in our program that there's always something for every girl.

The structure of our program was designed to allow girls to grow along with it, from Sparks all the way to Rangers, building on their skills as they go and learning more as they progress, no matter when they start in Guiding.

There are eight program areas that girls can try in Girl Guides.

Each program area is divided into three themes, so girls have a choice in how they build their Guiding journey. To earn their program area badge, girls can complete two or three of the theme badges.

How do girls do programming?

As a Girl Guide, girls of the same age get together regularly throughout the school year as part of a group called a unit. In everything she does, she’ll have support from inspirational women volunteers – her Guiders.

Every unit creates its own unique experience by picking activities from the program platform that meet its members’ interests to build their talents and skills. There are plenty of ideas to choose from on our program platform – active games, creative crafts, outdoor adventures, experiments and more!

Embers and Guides can pursue special badges called Discovery badges. Older girls, from Guides through Rangers, can earn a variety of awards through a combination of program activities, camping, leadership opportunities, and community service.
