Background
Girl Guides of Canada-British Columbia Council was formed in 1929, however there were already units established in Sardis and Vancouver in 1910. Since those early days Guiding has impacted the lives of girls and women in British Columbia. Through Guiding's various imaginative and innovative activity choices, girls are empowered to reach their potential, be independent, confident and caring as they learn to develop decision-making and life skills.
As Canada's largest organization for girls aged 5 to 17+ and women over 18, Guiding has long contributed to success among girls and women by providing opportunities for fun, friendship, camping, adventures, personal and leadership development, role models for girls, service and community involvement. Girl Guides of Canada-British Columbia Canada is a non-profit organization, has charitable status and is able to issue charitable tax receipts for all donations received.

Request for Charitable Donation Receipt for Income Tax Purposes
Donations may be made to our organization for any program offered or to general revenue. Some of the individual programs where donations have been made in the past are as follows:
- Event Support Fund
Donations to this fund will be used to support specific Guiding Events.
- Helping Hand Fund
Donations to this fund will help support members in financial need.
- Lones Support Fund
Donations to this fund will enable Lone girls to attend Guiding events.
- Pat Drugge Adult Bursary Fund
Donations to this fund will provide support to British Columbia adult Guiding members 25 years of age or over, who wish to further their education and training.
