The NB / PEI Council, Girl Guides of Canada-Guides du Canada, recognizes the importance of continuing education and has designed a scholarship program to encourage further education of active, registered members of GGC in NB /PEI.
The applicants may attend university, community college, technical school, or any recognized post-secondary private education facility in a full-time or part-time capacity. A scholarship will be awarded each year to a youth member to assist with the tuition of the successful applicant.
Criteria
- Applicants must be well-rounded active members of GGCin NB / PEI.
- The recipient must continue her involvement with Guiding in NB / PEI for at least one year following the use of the scholarship.
- Recipient must provide proof of acceptance at the chosen institution by September 15.
- The recipient must allow her name and/or image to be published through the signing of an IR-1 form.
- Unsuccessful candidates are encouraged to apply again.
How to apply
There is no separate application for the NB Council Scholarship- it is awarded annually to the highest-scoring applicant from NB-PEI who applied for a GGC national scholarship but was not selected.
The GGC National Scholarship team will notify the Provincial Commissioner(s) of the highest-scoring NB-PEI applicant who did not receive a National Scholarship.
Timing considerations:
- National Scholarship applications will be open from February 17 to March 25, 2026.
- The reviewer process runs through the end of May, with recipient announcements in June.
- National Scholarship notifications are sent to recipients in June.
- Provincial Scholarship notifications will be sent to recipients in September.
