WAGGGS

The World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) is the largest voluntary Movement dedicated to girls and young women in the world. We are the world’s only movement for every girl and any girl because we believe that each of them deserves to be the best they can be. Our diverse Movement represents ten million girls and young women from 150 countries.

For more than 100 years Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting has transformed the lives of girls and young women worldwide, supporting and empowering them to achieve their fullest potential and become responsible citizens of the world.

Through our 150 Member Organizations, and by working directly with girls and young women across the world, we pride ourselves with delivering high quality programmes and international opportunities. We aim to give girls and young women dynamic, flexible and values-based training in life skills, leadership and citizenship.

Our strengths lie in innovative non-formal education programmes, leadership development, advocacy work and community action, empowering girls and young women to develop the skills and confidence needed to make positive changes in their lives, in their communities and countries.

There are five WAGGGS’ regions:

and five World Centres:

As Girl Guides of Canada is a not-for-profit organization, we cannot send funds to another charity like WAGGGS. If your unit or district wants to support international initiatives, you can collect funds for CWFF (Canadian World Friendship Fund) and ask your Treasurer to complete a Unit/District Transfer to Province in the unified banking system.
