Strikes and Sweeps event: January 1-March 31, 2026
Help plan a bowling or curling event in your Guiding community!

We are looking for Guiders to organize a bowling or curling event in their local community. You would be responsible for finding suitable locations, manage local sign-ups and attending the event to make sure all runs smoothly!
- NL Council will provide a maximum subsidy of $100 per district. The subsidy will be transferred to the district’s Unified Banking account after your event.
- All participants will receive a free crest while supplies last!
- Guiders are encouraged to organize a district wide event. Districts that are close in proximity may combine their subsidies towards the cost of a larger venue. If it makes more sense to organize at the unit level, that is fine too however the maximum subsidy will still be $100 per district.
- Communities who do not have access to a bowling or curling venue may substitute another activity such as cornhole.
After your Strikes and Sweeps event:
- Crests may be ordered through the NL Council Challenges page.
- Email your receipt to whitej@girlguides.ca by April 30, 2026 to request your subsidy.
- We would love to share your event on GGC NL social media! Briefly describe your Strikes and Sweeps event including the date, location and activity. Please send to nl-communications@girlguides.ca. If sharing a photo, include only those with Image Release.
If you would like to volunteer, please email Amber at nl-program@girlguides.ca
