The Program Department promotes branch specific program activities for girls; providing Guiders and all other volunteers with resources to run successful programs and activities. The Program Department is committed to ensuring that all volunteers are prepared to run the best unit meetings and events to assist every girl member in exploring their own abilities.

Lones

Lones Information

Lones is a program option that enables girls who cannot attend an in-person unit to participate in Guiding. Girls in Lones complete their program primarily on their own and through flexible, virtual or other delivery formats in communication with the Lones Guider. Lady Baden-Powell Award Camp March 21-23

Lady Baden-Powell Award Information

Guides in their final year of the program (born in 2013) are invited to register for the Lady Baden-Powell Award Camp at Con Ba Su Hut in Seal Cove. During the event they will participate in outdoor cooking, a tea party hosted by Lady Baden Powell, a campfire, outside winter activities and more!

The cost is $75 + HST and includes programming, meals and accommodations. The deadline to register is February 21. Register now.

Shirt Design Contest

Contest Information

NL Council is holding a contest to find a design for our new provincial t-shirts and hoodies!

Design criteria:

  • Design can be any style.
  • Designs can be hand drawn or created digitally.
  • Designs do not need to include the Trefoil.
  • Designs can include images, text or both.
  • Designs should represent our province, Guiding or both.
  • Designs can be on any colour shirt - you can specify a colour your design would look best on or create the design for any colour shirt. 

There are no limits to your design ideas. Check out the current provincial shirt designs if you need inspiration to get your creative ideas flowing. 

Rules for entry:

  • You must be a registered member of Girl Guides of Canada in Newfoundland and Labrador.
  • Emails must include your name and your units name (please do not put this on your shirt design).
  • Members can submit multiple entries. 

How to enter:

  • Email a picture of your shirt design to nl-applications@girlguides.ca.
  • The deadline for entries is Thursday, February 6, 2025.

The creator of the winning design will receive a Guiding goodies package including a t-shirt with their design!

Water Winter Wonderland swimming or skating event

Event Information

We are seeking volunteers provincewide for the Winter Water Wonderland event! These volunteers would be primary points of contact for their specific communities, and would assist with booking locations, managing the sign-ups, and attending their event. GGC NL will provide financial assistance to cover the cost of swimming pool or ice rink booking for these events held before February 28, 2025.   Event participants will receive a free crest while supplies last!Winter Wonderland Crest
