The Program Department promotes branch specific program activities for girls; providing Guiders and all other volunteers with resources to run successful programs and activities. The Program Department is committed to ensuring that all volunteers are prepared to run the best unit meetings and events to assist every girl member in exploring their own abilities.
Lones is a program option that enables girls who cannot attend an in-person unit to participate in Guiding. Girls in Lones complete their program primarily on their own and through flexible, virtual or other delivery formats in communication with the Lones Guider. Memorial University and the University of New Brunswick have partnered with Girl Guides of Canada, NL Council to organize a science themed weekend at Memorial's St. John's campus for Guide aged youth. Participants will enjoy an interstellar sleepover experience at Memorial University's Johnson Geo Centre, and engage in hands-on activities in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).
