Girl Guides of Canada–Guides du Canada, Newfoundland and Labrador Council is committed to ensuring that every girl and woman who chooses to be a member has the opportunity to participate fully in the Guiding program, without concern that membership will be compromised due to affordability. To this end, the NL Provincial Council established the Sharron Callahan Member Assistance Fund.This Fund was established at the end of the term of office (April 2007) of Provincial Commissioner Sharron Callahan to recognize her contribution to Guiding in this province, especially her recognition that all girls and women who wish to be members of Guiding should be welcomed, without concern of affordability. Our council is committed to helping make this possible. Applications will be considered at any time.
Girl Membership Fee Assistance
Caregivers can apply for financial assistance with the membership fees directly through our online girl registration system. Please note that this process applies to girl membership fees only.

Girl Uniform and Camp Fee Assistance
Eligible expenses include
- Uniform costs (50%, up to a maximum of $25 per individual). Girl uniform options are a t-shirt or a tunic.The girl can choose if she wants to add the badge sash or tie.
- Canadian camp registration fee (50%).

There are other funding providers that may help you access financial support for costs related to your child’s participation in Guiding (including membership fee support, camp or activity costs, uniform fees, etc.).
Adult Member Assistance
Eligible expenses include
- Membership fees (maximum 50%). This amount will be sent to your district or area through Unified Banking transfer. You would pay the balance to your district or area.
- Uniform costs – adult uniform shirt (50% up to $25 maximum).
