Tri-Waters Area Scholarship Application Form

The Tri-Waters Area Youth Member Scholarship is awarded annually to a Youth Member in the Area pursuing post-secondary education. Selection of the scholarship winner will be based on responses to the questions included in the application. Please answer all questions, below. Demographic information will not be used in the decision making.

Deadline for applications is May 15, 2024. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Criteria

  1. Applicants must have been an active member of Girl Guides of Canada-Guides du Canada in Tri-Waters Area for the past 24 months prior to applying for the Bursary. It is expected the Recipient of this Bursary remain Active in Guiding for at least one year after receiving the award.
  2. Applicants must be planning to enroll or already enrolled in full time post-secondary education, e.g. community college, university or other facility. Proof of enrollment or acceptance at a post-secondary education facility is required for the awarding of the Bursary. It should be included with your application. However, this may be forwarded later if not available at time of application.
  3. One Scholarship of $500.00 is to be awarded each school year by July 1.
  4. The Scholarship is not deferrable.
  5. The Scholarship may be awarded only once to the same member. Unsuccessful Applicants may re-apply if they still meet all the criteria.
  6. Completed applications are to be submitted online by May 15, 2024.
  7. Applicants will be evaluated based on Guiding experience and responses to the questions.
  8. Completed applications must include the following:
    • a) Application Form – on line available at: Tri-Waters (girlguides.ca)
    • b) Proof of acceptance to the school you will be attending.

The successful applicant will be announced once chosen. All other applicants will be notified by email of the decision. Bursary may be presented at the applicants Graduation Ceremonies if appropriate.
