For young women ages 15 to 17
Rangers is all about leadership and community involvement and a flexible program that allows teens to create their own unique Guiding experience. Young women begin to explore career options and learn valuable skills such as budgeting and event planning. Rangers are also involved in active leadership opportunities like global development projects, eco-awareness initiatives and teaching skills to younger girls as Junior Leaders.
Sample activities may include:
The versatile Ranger uniform – T-shirt, navy cargo pants, pin tab and tie – allows girls to participate in the wide range of activities that Guiding is all about, from planting trees in a community garden and volunteering at their local food bank to canoeing down a river or discussing community safety with local politicians.
Rangers earn awards and crests in recognition for the leadership skills they’ve developed, the new adventures they’ve tried and the service they’ve given to their community. Rangers wear their awards on pin tabs, and crests on a camp blanket.
