Guid
ing is a w
orld wide organization and Girl Guides of Canada-Guides du Canada is a founding member of the World Association of Girl
Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS), a movement of 150 countries with more than 10 million members. The Canadian Guiding program, from Sparks up through all levels of Guiding, encourages us to learn about our sister members in other countries, to explore other cultures, and to examine issues affecting girls and women throughout the world.
Responsibilities of the International Committee include:
Promoting WAGGGS’ activities, programs, publications and events
Promoting World Thinking Day and Guide & Scout Week activities
Promoting domestic and international opportunities for girls and adult members
Fostering and encouraging projects which will create an interest and/or awareness of World Guiding such as twinning and the CWFF
