Girl Guides provincial headquarters

Girl Guides provincial headquarters is located at 63 Roosevelt Avenue in St. John’s and is available for use by any Guiding group. The building has a large program room, dining room and a smaller meeting room. The kitchen is equipped with two stoves, large fridge, commercial dishwasher, microwave, toasters, coffee maker and a large supply of dishes, pots, and pans. The washroom has four toilets, four sinks, and one shower. The sleepover fee is $50.00 per night, plus a $50.00 damage deposit. The maximum number permitted for sleepovers is 30 people. Con Ba Su Hut

Spend some time at the Con Ba Su Area Campsite. Join your Guiding sisters around a fire, roasting marshmallow and singing songs. There is a lot of fun to be had!

Con Ba Su, an acronym for Conception Bay South, is a Guiding facility that belongs to Con Ba Su Area and is available for use by any Guiding group. This wonderful facility, located in a country setting on Daniel's Road in Seal Cove, is equipped with everything you need to have a fun-filled weekend with your girls. It is wheelchair accessible, has two sleeping areas, one with 16 sets of bunk beds and another with six bunks, three washrooms, two showers, a main dining area/hall, a kitchen with two stoves, two large fridges, two microwaves, toasters, cooking equipment, dishes, portable campfire stove and an indoor fireplace.

Well back from the road, there is also a large grassy field, ideal for tenting. On this site there is a mini-hut that can be used for programming, including picnic tables and benches for use. Groups have to bring their own tents, stoves, lanterns and group cooking equipment. Although there is no electricity, there is access to water through a hose extension on the main building.  The site has a porta-potty too. The facility is also available for functions such as special events, gatherings, Guiding meetings, Trefoil events etc.

Greentrees

Experience Greentrees, a camping property owned by Discovery District tucked away near the historic town of Trinity on the Bonavista Peninsula.

The camp is set back from the road and is well protected by a stand of trees on all sides. It is comprised of a camping hut and a field suitable for tenting. The building is wheelchair accessible and sleeps thirty people. It has two large bunkrooms with twelve bunks in each and two smaller rooms with three bunks each. The main room is perfect for both dining in and/or programming of all kinds. The kitchen includes two stoves, a microwave, and toasters, cooking equipment, dishes, a fridge and a deep freezer.  Although Greentrees does not have running water, water is provided for cooking and cleaning and containers can be refilled nearby. There are four outhouses on site. The field includes an area for outdoor programming and eating, a large fire pit with seating and two swing sets.

Everything the area has to offer is right at your doorstep. Local trails include Skerwink, Gun Hill and Fox Island. The Rising Tide Theatre and Provincial Historic Sites in Trinity offer insights into local history and culture. There are great options for whale watching, boat tours, kayaking and more! Beautiful Bonavista is just 45 minutes away. Visit the puffins in Elliston and the fossils in Port Union, an excellent day trip to add to your camp experience.

Greentrees is available for both weekend and weekday rentals from June to October. Off-season bookings may be possible upon request.

Pinchgut Lake Camp

Pinchgut Lake Camp is located just 20 km west of Corner Brook and just a five minute drive from the Trans-Canada Highway. The camp is situated on the beautiful waterfront of Pinchgut Lake. The new facility is fully accessible with 33 bunks, a modern kitchen, toilets, showers, heat pump/electric heat, beachfront access, craft and activity space in the basement and an outdoor cookhouse and tenting area. The site is available for use year-round.
