Sparks
For girls ages 5 to 6
If you're a five or six-year old girl who likes to have fun with girls your own age, then this is the place for you! Sparks is where the Guiding adventure begins.
What do girls in Sparks do?
Sparks usually meet once a week for one hour. Guiders lead the girls in all kinds of fun activities, like crafts, songs and games. In Sparks, the emphasis is on developing friendships and exploring individual skills and talents. It's a place where girls are encouraged to try a bit of everything. You'll make lots of new friends, start collecting badges and begin to learn all kinds of new things in a safe and fun atmosphere. No two Sparks meetings are alike.
Activities include:
- Discovering your community through excursions to the fire station, a farmer's market or a neighbourhood landmark
- Exploring the arts by making masks or a creating your own dance
- Learning about bike safety
- Having fun preparing simple snacks
- Discovering the outdoors on a nature scavenger hunt
- Having sleepovers or going camping
Sparks learn to share and to think of themselves as part of a greater community while making amazing friends along the way.
