Volunteers are critical to the success of the Guiding movement. Whether you are new to Guiding, have a few years under your belt or are a life-long member, young women and seasoned members can bring a variety of experiences to our organizations. Recruitment is currently underway for the following Provincial Level Volunteer Positions.

Available Positions

NS is very fortunate to have dedicated volunteers to help our members experience the best Guiding can offer, but we can’t do it without help.

Because members serve a period of 3 years in a Provincial role, there are several positions that will be available this May and we are looking for interested individuals to join the team.  

Currently we have the following roles to be fill prior to our May 25th, 2019 AGM. Time commitment averages 5-10 hours a month.  All positions with the exception of the Provincial Treasurer, are three-year terms.

Provincial Treasurer – oversee financial matters of the Nova Scotia Council, works closely with our Provincial Accounting Administrator, Office Manager, and Provincial Council to create budget, complete compliance, complete annual review, and work with Area Treasurers. (This is a 1-year renewable term up to 5 years.)

Member Services Portfolio:
•    Member Services Coordinator – provides assistance and support to the Membership, Public Relations, Training, Link and Trefoil Advisers – experience as an adviser is ideal but not necessary.
•    Training Adviser – provides oversight to training needs for all levels of adult Guiding, working with her team assists with coordinating Provincial and Area level trainings. 

Elected Member: Property MGMT – provides assistance and support to the Area Commissioners and Camp Committees for Compliance relate issues. Working with the National office, assists Council with the implementation of the National Property Strategy and Framework.

International Adviser: Provides oversight to International trips, Inter-provincial trips and develops resources for International aspects of GGC.

Active Living Adviser: Promotes active living activities through NS Girl Guides programming for Girls and Guiders.   

Pr Adviser: Oversees the promotion and dissemination of positive external communication regarding Guiding in Nova Scotia.
