Pathfinder Awards
The Canada Cord is an award that can be earned by Pathfinders. It encourages girls to meet new people, learn more about themselves and their abilities, and puts their leadership skills into action. It is the highest award a Pathfinder can achieve.
Ranger Awards
The Trailblazer award (previously called the Chief Commissioner's Award) is a prestigious award marking the culmination of a Ranger’s work as a girl member. The award recognizes a girl’s outstanding achievement and her commitment to the Vision, Mission and Values of Girl Guides of Canada. The Trailblazer Leadership award is the highest award a Ranger can earn. There are three levels: bronze, silver and gold.
School Credit Letters for Achievements
Did you know Ranger members who complete their Trailblazer Silver or Gold Award, and attend a New Brunswick or PEI public school, are able to have these achievements recognized as a personal interest/elective credit on their academic transcripts?
NB members:
Rangers can have their Trailblazer Silver Award recognized as a grade 12-level personal interest credit. This credit provides students with an opportunity to meet their graduation requirements by using one personal interest credit as an elective credit within the requirements to graduate.
Students who have completed their Silver Trailblazer Award and would like a confirmation letter are asked to complete the request form and a letter will be emailed to you. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure all documents are delivered to your school counsellor teams at the district level. While there is no deadline to submit, it would be best for students to do this before course selection for the Grade 12 year.
PEI members:
Rangers can have their Trailblazer Gold Award recognized as a grade 12-level external credit. This credit provides students with an opportunity to meet their graduation requirements by using one external credit as an elective credit within the requirements to graduate.
The course code (GGC621T) will appear on a student’s transcript when they successfully complete their programming and provide their complete form documentation and evidence to the school. Students who will be completing their Gold Trailblazer Award and would like a confirmation letter are asked to complete the form and a letter will be emailed to you. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure all documents are delivered to your school counsellor teams by the school’s submission deadline.
