The Helen Storrow Seminar (HSS) is an international development event held annually at Our Chalet, WAGGGS’s World Centre in Switzerland. The seminar has empowered young people in Guiding to become leaders for change, focusing on environmental sustainability.
HSS 2027 will take place on January 23- 30, 2027, with additional days required for travel to and from Switzerland. The theme is ‘Sustainable Energy’. GGC is recruiting one young member to attend.
Eligibility for HSS 2027:
- Member of GGC
- Be 18-25 on January 23, 2027
- Be passionate about environmental issues
- Be committed to designing and running an environmental project in the wider community
- Be eager to develop new leadership skills and support GGC
- Open to sharing about their experiences with the GGC community
- Has not attended a previous WAGGGS leadership seminar or programme
- Have a valid passport. Please note that in order to travel internationally, your passport must not expire within the 6-month period after the last day of your travel. Please do not provide any passport information on this application.
Applications will close on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at 11:59 PM ET. Interviews will take place on May 27 and May 28.
