Canadian World Friendship Fund
The Canadian World Friendship Fund (CWFF) helps girls and youth connect and make a lasting impact locally and globally. It’s funded by donations from GGC’s members and friends through girl-led initiatives such as special events and donation drives at the local unit, district and area levels.
The CWFF empowers girls to explore international Guiding through travel, programs and projects while supporting GGC’s membership in WAGGGS and its global initiatives.
How does the CWFF make a difference?
- Connecting internationally: supporting GGC members by funding WAGGGS membership fees and enabling them to represent Canada at international events like the World and Western Hemisphere conferences.
- Leadership opportunities: helping members participate in WAGGGS programs like the Juliette Low and Helen Storrow Seminars, where they can build confidence and develop skills for the future.
- Supporting the Western Hemisphere and making travel accessible: Supporting GGC units to participate in service-learning trips to Nuestra Cabaña, the World Centre located in the Western Hemisphere, where GGC members can support impactful local projects and connect with Girl Guides and Girl Scouts from around the Region.
How donations can be made in February 2026
In February 2026, donations directed to the Canadian World Friendship Fund can be made in the following three ways.
1. Square
When using Square, select the product icon titled “Thinking Day Donation.”
Donations will be automatically allocated to the Canadian World Friendship Fund. Square is recommended for events, gatherings, and in-person donation opportunities.
2. Online donation
Donations can be made online through this link or by scanning this CWFF QR code.
This option allows donors to give quickly and securely using their own device, making it ideal for meetings, ceremonies, and events where sharing a QR code is practical. Donations of $20 or more will receive a tax receipt.
3. Cash deposited to Unified Banking
Cash donations can be collected locally and the unit treasurer can complete a Unit/District transfer to Province within unified banking to send the funds to CWFF.
