Campership Application Guidelines

Please review the following guidelines and fill out the application form in its entirety.


  1. Applicants will be selected for Lone Guiding Campership opportunities based on the following criteria:
    • The Lone Guiding Campership is open to all registered Lone members (Sparks through Rangers). A Lone member may apply for the Lone Guiding Campership two times per Guiding year (September to August). Applications must be for two different camps.
    • An amount of up to $300 of the GGC camp/event fee and up to $250 for travel to the camp/event (if needed), will be awarded. The number of Camperships awarded will be based on availability of funds.
    • To be eligible for the Lone Guiding Campership, a copy of the event/camp registration form and confirmation from the camp organizers that the youth has been accepted to the camp must accompany the Campership application. The Lone Campership Team will use this information to calculate the amount of the Lone Guiding Campership.

  2. Application Deadlines*: Applications should be submitted using the form below, on or before the 1st of the month, and up to two (2) months prior to the month of the application deadline for the GGC Camp being applied for.
    • *For unique circumstances (on a case by case basis), applications received up to, but no later than four months after the date of the camp/event will be considered.

  3. If selected, a confirmation letter or email will be sent the successful applicant and her caregiver. If the camp fees have been paid in full by the caregiver, a cheque will be sent to the address on the application form for the amount being granted from the Campership. If the camp is to be paid directly, the applicant will be notified once the payment has been made to the camp.

NOTE:

It is the responsibility of the applicant and/or her parent/legal guardian to ensure that full payment be made by the event deadline and that all conditions set out by the GGC camp/ event organizers are met. Any incomplete application that is received cannot be considered. It will be returned to the applicant who can resubmit with the missing information, if she so wishes.
