Welcome to your Guiding adventure!

When do her unit meetings start?

Log in to your registration account to see your child’s most up-to-date unit details.

As we prepare for the Guiding year in September, volunteers and staff are working hard to finalize details for each unit. Meeting details are tentative and some start dates may be confirmed closer to the beginning of the Guiding year.

If her start date is not posted in your registration account by the end of September or you haven’t heard from her unit leader, contact us at info@girlguides.ca. Be sure to include your child’s name and iMIS number, using the same email address associated with your registration account, to avoid delays. You can also call us at 1-877-564-6188 for more information.

If you registered your child after the unit’s start date, please wait for a Guider to reach out with the meeting plan before attending. Some units may meet at alternate locations for special events, so it’s important to confirm first. If you haven’t heard from a Guider within one week of registering, reach out to the contact information above so we can help make sure a Guider connects with you.

Note: Don't forget to check your junk, spam, promotional, or other email folders in case unit communications have been filtered there.

What she can expect

Girl Guides is where she can explore her interests, make new friends and build confidence in a fun and supportive environment.

Whether she loves art, science, the outdoors or DIY projects, she’ll find fun, hands-on activities designed just for her.

With peers her own age and caring adult volunteers by her side, she’ll gain:

  • Confidence to try new things and speak up
  • Leadership skills to make a difference
  • Friendships that build connection and belonging
  • Resilience to tackle challenges
  • A sense of purpose through community involvement

She’ll grow in ways that will stay with her for life — and you get a front-row seat to watch her shine.

Ready for the fun to begin?

Our program platform is an online activity library where she can:

  • Explore fun activities to try with her unit
  • Take a peek at upcoming meeting plans
  • Track badges and awards as she earns them
  • Check out the For Girls/Families tab for answers to your Guiding questions

New and returning members for the 2025-2026 Guiding year will get access to the program platform at the start of September. Use her membership (iMIS) ID number to create an account.

Payment options for unit expenses

Conveniently pay for unit expenses (such as camp fees and dues) by setting up Girl Guides of Canada (GGC) as a payee through your personal online banking. Each girl member has a unique 20-digit code that includes the unit banking number and her membership (iMIS) ID number.

To confirm the banking number, check with her unit leaders. For instructions on setting up an online bill payment with GGC, see our Quick Tip Guide: Online Payment Instructions.

Note: Registration fees must be paid through the National Girl Guide online registration system and cannot be completed using online bill payments.

Experience the fun together!

Guiding is even better when you get involved. Here’s how you can support her journey:

  • Ask questions. After meetings, ask open-ended questions about what they did and learned – you’ll see her confidence soar sharing her newfound knowledge.
  • Join cookie season! Selling cookies is a fun way for her to develop teamwork and communication skills. Check out our Cookie Selling Resources page to help her earn an award.
  • Unleash her potential. Find tips on building confidence, navigating social media and raising an empowered girl. See it, be it: How women role models can help your daughter thrive.
  • Join as a volunteer! Be part of her Guiding experience, share new adventures and help girls in your community to believe in themselves. Become a volunteer today.
