Our History - 2010-present

Girl Guides of Canada-Guides du Canada celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2010. A National 2010 Launch Party was held on January 16 at Casa Loma to mark the beginning of a year-long celebration for this milestone. At the launch party, girls learned about Guiding history by engaging in scavenger hunts, crafts, displays of historic uniforms, and many other activities. Ontario also celebrated this anniversary with a Rally Day held on May 15, 2010 in four locations (Toronto, Ottawa, Sudbury, and Thunder Bay), as well as with a Guiding Mosaic National Camp held in Guelph from July 8-17.

After Transformation, some Ontario offices began to close. In 2013, Ontario Council made the decision to have a single administrative office for the Province. As of December 1, 2014 the new Ontario Council office is located at 180 Duncan Mill Road, Toronto.

In May 2014, Ontario Council held a Rally Day at Canada’s Wonderland. Over 8,000 Guiding members attended. Girls participated in a wide variety of sports, crafts, and cultural and artistic activities. Units from across Ontario camped at nearby campsites to be a part of this fantastic event.
