Announcing an exciting Independent International Trip to Our Cabana
to Pathfinder, Ranger and Trex/Extra Ops Parents in communities 13-19, 22, 23, 37, 38 and 41
Plans are underway to take a group of Pathfinders and Rangers to Our Cabana in 2020. This will be a multipurpose trip allowing the participants to experience International travel, Mexican culture, a community action activity, an aquatic park and a program session at Our Cabana (one of our Guiding World Centres).

There's nothing like a Guiding trip to enable girls to see the world – and themselves – in a whole new way. Girl Guides of Canada's Nationally-Sponsored Trips (NSTs) enable members to travel all over the world; fostering independence and developing essential skills like teamwork and financial planning. Explore the opportunities. Young adults and girls may apply for NSTs until October 9th, 2019.

Does your daughter have circumstances that may prevent her from accessing our traditional programs? Does she require a program that is flexible, accessible and adaptable to her needs and still provide the benefits of membership? Lones may be the program for her! 

Clear the Air on Vaping Risks – Service Project Grants for Rangers
to all Ranger parents
Calling all creative and health-conscious Rangers. Rangers can reach out to Melina MacLean at melina.maclean@gmail.com by September 30th, 2019 if they are interested in participating in a project funded by Health Canada on the risks of vaping.

The 1st Hayes Trex Unit challenges Pathfinder and Ranger-aged girls to explore their own ideas while they help to design a girl-led and girl-driven adventure program.

Girl Guide Program Day
to Spark, Brownie and Guide parents in communities 13-19, 22, 23, 37, 38 and 41
Register for some fun-filled, girl-focused program days. Participants will enjoy outdoor games, crafts, songs and more. Each day we will do activities and earn a special crest from different provincial and global Girl Guide challenges. Register for three or more program days by Thursday October 31, 2019 to receive a $5 discount per day. 

Let’s Get Brekkie Ready Challenge Day
to Spark, Brownie and Guide parents in communities 13-19, 22, 23, 37, 38 and 41
Attend this fun-filled, girl-focused event. Girls will complete the Let’s Get Brekkie Ready Challenge from Scotland. The activities will include crafts, songs and outdoor games. 

Welcome to Guiding picnic
to all parents in communities 9, 10, 14, 21 and 41
Guiders and girls are invited to a BBQ with lots of fun activities to kick off the 2019-2020 Guiding year. Come dressed for the weather. 

Magical Creatures Challenge Day
to Spark, Brownie and Guide parents in communities 13-19, 22, 23, 37, 38 and 41
Attend this fun-filled, girl-focused event. Girls will complete the Magical Creatures Challenge from England. The activities will include crafts, songs and outdoor games.

Girl Guide Cookie Bowl
to all parents in communities 1-4, 6-10, 13, 14, 21 and 41
All GGC members and their families are invited to kick-off the new Guiding year at the Girl Guide Cookie Bowl. Girls will join the Hamilton Tiger-Cats for an afternoon of football and fun. Prizes will be awarded to the units with the greatest number of participants in their group. Units are encouraged to wear uniform or casual Guiding gear. 

Plastic Free Challenge Day
to Spark, Brownie and Guide parents in communities 13-19, 22, 23, 37, 38 and 41
Attend this fun-filled, girl-focused event. Girls will complete the Plastic Free Challenge from Nova Scotia. The activities will include crafts, songs and outdoor games. 

Girl Guide Day with Niagara Ice Dogs 2020
to all parents in communities 9, 10, 14, 21 and 41
Come and watch the hockey game and cheer on the Niagara Ice Dogs with all your Guiding friends. Ticket holders may skate on the ice before the game from noon to 1 p.m.

Camp Woolsey’s Work Weekend
to all Unit Guiders and Community Guiders in communities 27-29 and 40
Calling all Guiding sisters, friends and family! We are looking for help with the fall clean up and repair of our beloved campground. High school students are welcome to help to earn volunteer hours for school. Lunch will be provided on each day. If you cannot attend, contact the organizers to find out about other ways to help. 

World premiere screening: 17 And Life Doesn’t Wait with a Panel Discussion
to Pathfinder, Ranger and Trex/Extra Ops parents in communities 13-19, 22, 23, 37, 38 and 41
Pathfinders and Rangers are invited to the premiere of the TVO documentary, 17 And Life Doesn’t Wait made by award-winning Canadian Director, Maureen Judge. 17 And Life Doesn’t Wait paints a lively, candid and emotionally charged view of life through the eyes of three teen girls in their final year of high school. This very special evening will include a post-screening discussion that includes GGC’s very own Jill Zelmanovits and hosted by Nam Kiwanuka of TVO’s The Agenda.
