Awards

I’d like to recognize a fellow Guider for the work they do. What types of awards can I nominate them for?

Visit the Awards page and download the full Québec Awards Booklet for descriptions of the different awards. If you’re looking for a less formal way to salute a Guider, you can give them a Tip of the Hat. To do so, email our Awards Liaison at qc-awards-prix@guidescanada.ca with the Guider’s name, iMIS ID, your name and a short yet detailed description of why they are special.

Camp Peaceful Waters

We’d like to reserve a site at Peaceful Waters. Where do we start?

Campership

I have a caregiver who would like financial support to attend a unit/district or provincial camp. How do I manage that?

Please direct the caregiver to our Campership form.

Communications

I’d like to submit an item for Guidepost. How do I go about it?

  • Email your content to qc-editorial@guidescanada.ca
  • Submissions are due by noon, one week prior to the Guidepost edition you’re targeting

Contracts

Who can sign contracts/reservations/agreements?

All contracts for meeting space, sleepover locations, camp locations, cookie selling venues etc., must be signed by the provincially delegated contract signer. The agreement should include a summary of terms and conditions. GGC also requires proof of liability insurance to sign contracts. For facilities or service providers not regularly used by GGC, please request a copy of their general liability insurance (certificate or summary of policy) at the time the contract or rental agreement is negotiated. Documents should be sent as early as possible to qc-contracts@guidescanada.ca.

Event Registration Set-up

We’re planning a district or provincial event. How do we set up registration for it?

Support for events and registration is available on Member Zone , under Guider Resources/ Events.

Financial Flow – Who pays for what?

Who pays for what in Québec – the unit, district or province?

Québec Provincial Council and DCs have approved this Financial Flow.

iMIS

What is iMIS and what does it have to do with me?

  • iMIS is the GGC database that includes information about all volunteers, girls, their activity records, unit and district details and more! All members and non-member volunteers have an iMIS identification number and a personal profile that are often necessary to reference for administrative purposes.
  • From swim test results to contact details to awards received and positions held - everyone’s iMIS record must be kept up to date.
  • Send all changes and inquiries to memberunitsupport@girlguides.ca.

Inside Guiding

I don’t have a child registered in GGC. How can I receive Inside Guiding?

Membership Growth and Local PR Opportunities

My unit/district is planning a local recruitment event. Are there items available from the provincial storage locker that we can use? What PR material is available?

Contact your District Commissioner to see what’s available for you locally or from your Provincial PR Adviser at qc-pr-rp@guidescanada.ca.

Images, ads and clip art are available on the Brand Centre to be printed on PR material.

New Unit Start-up Funds Request

A new Unit has opened, it has a Responsible Guider and a Unit Treasurer in iMIS, how do I request start-up funds?

Funding is available for new units using the New Unit Start-up Funds Request form. It is not available to units that are merging, de-merging or units re-opening that closed within the past two years.

Provincial Support – Volunteers and staff

How can I contact someone?

  • Click Contact Us in the bottom right corner of our QC website to download a full provincial contact list.
  • If you can’t find the details of the person you’re trying to reach on our provincial contact list or don’t know who you should write to, send an email to info@girlguides.ca. The GGC Customer Care Center will put you in touch with the right person.

QC Merchandise

We’d like to design a district or event crest. Are there guidelines to follow?

  • If you’d like to use the GGC logo, the design must receive provincial approval. Take a look at the Brand Standards on Member Zone for details.
  • Send your design to qc-pr-rp@guidescanada.ca for approval at least a month before production to ensure enough time for approval or suggested modifications.

We’d like to purchase some Québec patches or crests to bring on a trip as swaps. What’s available to buy?

Email qc-international@guidescanada.ca to find out what’s available for travelling units. Leaving Canada we have Canada flashes, leaving Québec we have Québec flashes.
